How it is made

We work with a family studio in the hills outside Jingdezhen. Each vase is fired twice at 1280°C, and the glaze is mixed from a recipe the studio has used for three generations. Small variations in colour and lip are expected.

Thrown on the wheel, trimmed by hand, and dipped in a celadon glaze that pools a shade darker where the wall thickens. The mouth is wide enough for a loose arrangement of branches; the foot is weighted so the vase stays put.

Every piece is checked by hand before it is wrapped. Small variations in glaze, wax colour, and glass tone are part of the batch, not a fault.
